Thank you

I'll like to thank all of the people that took a look at my blog. Thanks for being here to look at my posts for part of my track season. Even though it didn't end the way that I wanted it to. I'm glad I was able to compete because I know it's people out here that would love compete in track meet. I'm just grateful that I was able to run and do as good as I did. I ran against some very good athletes this year. I'm glad I did because it pushed me to be the best. I want to be the best runner ever. I want to hopefully run in the Olympics. That is the big goal right there.
I will continue to work hard. I want to go to state in every single sport I play. Anything is possible for me to do with a little hard work and dedication. I can already feel this senior year is going to be a good one for me and all of my senior teammates. I keep blogging when cross country season comes around to keep updated. If you are reading this right now I'm going to say it now. I'm going to be the best runner in the world I'm going to go the Olympics and win gold medals.

Cross country

Conditioning for cross country is coming up pretty soon. I'm very excited about this. I will back running with my team. Last season was pretty successful I think. It was also my first year running cross country. My best time was an 18:14 which I know isn't the best time but I think that's good for my first year. In high school we run 3.1 miles as a race. Some times were slower because of the terrain we are running on. A course can be hilly, flat, raining and, muddy. The course that I got the 18:14 on was mostly flat with a couple of hills. That was also our conference meet that I got that time. I got 21st place which got me all conference honorably mention. I think that was my biggest accomplishment of that season.
This year I think I can run down in the 15:00s 16:00s if I continue to work. Because last year I was always with the front group for a little bit then I died away a little bit because I didn't have that much running background. But know that I been running a lot I think I can get down to the lower times like that. But I really hope that I can do it so wish me luck this season.

Working out

I'm working out now. I'm working on my legs and my upper body to get stronger and faster. All of the teammates that are running cross country with me are all working out too. We all realized that we need to get stronger we just can't all depend on our talent. When I was at districts I realized that. I'm thinking in my head I bet some of these kids that are running also works out. When I asked them I was right. Almost everyone I talked to said that they work out but also run there mileage. I think that it was cool that those people gave me some tips on how to be a better runner. The people I was talking to we're some very good runners.
I think if I used the tips they gave me I can become I better runner . I also think if my teammates use them too we can become one of the best teams around. Which I would like to be before I graduate is the best team around. I want to be the best distance runner Mt. Healthy high school has ever seen. But for me to do that I have to keep running. I want to break more than one school record. I want to break the two mile record which is a 9:05. I think that I can do it.

Off season Pt. 2

We'll it is the second day of the off season. I'm extremely bored. But I was also happy at the same time because a few of my other team mates had regionals. I wish them the best of luck. The 4x1 relay team made it regionals. Also a couple of girls made it to regionals. I really hope that  they do good because there is some seniors on that relay team and I want them to go to state for their last year of high school. For the girls that our going I hop they do good too. There is a girl running that made it to state last year. She qualified in a couple different races at districts . So I know she is running a lot right now at regionals.
Regionals was held at Troy high school in Dayton. I think it was a good day to run today too. The sun was out. It was hot but it wasn't raining which I think was good. I bet the atmosphere of the race was good. I think that is just and amazing memory to have. Still I got to keep working so I can make it state my senior year. Again I would like to wish my teammates good luck.

Off Season Pt. 1

First day of the off season was pretty boring but I still went for a little run. I felt good after that run it felt like I can keep running forever. But I just can’t sit down and not keep running. I have to keep getting better and faster. We had some good seniors on the team and it makes me kind of sad that I won’t run with them in a race anymore. We had one senior on the 4x8 team named Joe he always led us off with a 2:03-2:04. This was good. He was also on the 4x1600 team which broke the school record this year. That time was 19:18 we broke it by one second. I was the anchor on that team too.

It feels to have free time after school because I’m used to going down to the track for practice. I don’t like to sit around a lot that’s why I play a lot of sports and run a lot. If I didn’t then I don’t know what I would do with myself. But now I’m just working out trying to stay in shape for cross country season. Hopefully we can win another League championship. We won last year for cross maybe we can do that for a second year in a row. I can’t wait.

Districts Pt. 3

Well we had districts... It was a bad meet. Our 4x8 team didn’t do so good we needed to get fourth place to advance to regionals and we got sixth. I’m still disappointed about it. We worked very hard this season beat a lot of good people. But I guess it just feel apart that race. But it is ok we are going to work hard in the off season to make sure we make it all the way to the state championship next year. We were so close to that fourth place spot. But we’ll get them next year.

My second race was the two mile race. I needed to get fourth place to advance to regionals. I felt good before the race I stretched and drunk lots of water. I was feeling good. I was just so nervous. I’ve never seen any of these runners before I didn’t know anything about them. I just know there school. They called are names to where we would line up I was seeded eleventh out of 20. Well we were lined up and the ref gave us instructions on when we could cut in. and telling us not to run on the with line on the inside of the track. The ref got ready to shoot the gun. When he shot it I went I got to the cut in line and I got in first I led the race for a little bit. Then I don’t know what happen then I just fell back. I didn’t advance…

Districts Pt. 2

Today is the day. It is the day of the district track meet. I’m so nervous. I don’t even know why I’m nervous it’s just because last year I was on J.V. and I didn’t run in a big track meet like this before. It’s like your runner for yourself. There is no more team. You are running by yourself out there. You have to get top four to move on. Unless you are running a relay then it stills a team effort. Which I’m in one relay and one individual event. I’m really going to try my hardest to get into the top four because I really want to make it regionals. Regionals are up in Dayton.

Some of the 4x8 relay teams that are there we can beat. But I want to beat LaSalle high school today. They been beating us all year and I think that it is finally our time to win. When you tired of losing to the same people it motivates us to run even faster. I’m going to run with everything I got. I’m anchor so it is going to be up to me to get us in to top four if were not already there.

The second event I’m running is the two mile run. I really hope that I do well. I know that I have to run harder than I ever did before in my life. Well wish me luck out there tonight.

Districts Pt. 1

Yesterday we had district track meet. We didn’t even get to run. It got cancelled it kept lighting. It didn’t even rain it just kept lighting. They postponed it for a hour. Then another lightning bolt hit. So they just postponed it till Friday. Which is ok with me but I was really ready to run the 4x8. But now on Saturday I have to run a 4x8 and 2 mile Friday. Hopefully I move on to regionals in both events. We have to get top four to move on. Which I think that I and my team can do.
Even though that I didn’t get to run I still had fun. I got to meet a lot of different people. Made some new friends. That was just a good experience to have. But I know Friday I have to get back to business and none of these people are not going to be my friends they are going to be the people that I have to beat. This is going to be one of the biggest races of my life.

SWOC

Last week we had our conference championships. It is called the SWOC. I ran the 4x8 on Tuesday the first day of championships. Our relay team got second. We lost to Talawanda . I ran a 2:09 I was the anchor. That was slow considering that my fastest is a 2:06.  But I have to give Talawanda their props they ran a good relay race. They had a good first man on their he ran a 1:58. The rest were pretty good they ran around 2:05-2:10. But districts is coming up and our 4x8 has to get top four to advance. I also have to get top four in the 2 mile to advance to regionals. I think I can make it all the way to state.

I hope to make it the state Championships before I graduate. That would be a big acomphlishment in my life I think that would be a great memory for me. Hopefully I do I’m going to work hard so I can make it there. But if I don’t I want to a least make it to regionals. That would be a big step for me. I would have came a long from last year to this year. Last year I was a jv runner. Now I’m a varisty First Team All Conference runner.

Introduction

Hello world welcome to the fun and exciting blog of the Mt. Healthy track team.  My name is Tyler Holley I’m a student at Mt. Healthy high school.  But I attend Diamond Oaks Vocational School.  The lab that I’m in here is called Health Tech.  This is like a kind a nursing program.  I want to be a nurse or a teacher when I graduate from high school.

I’m a Mt. Healthy High School athlete.  I’m also a junior.  I choose to write about my track team because we are really good.  I’m a distance runner I run the one mile, two mile, and 4x8.  I can run a 4:49 mile and a 10:40 two miles. I also run a 2:06 800 meters. My first time running the mile I ran a 4:58.  My first time running the two mile I ran a 11:17. My first 800 I ran a 2:10.  So I think I improved a lot this season. This was my junior season. Next year in my senior season I plan to run even faster. I want to break schools records.  I want to go to state next year and hopefully place in the meet.  That has always been my goal.

I also ran cross countries that help me with a lot. During cross country I ran all the time. I ran almost 15 miles a day. Sometimes I ran two- a days that is you going to practice two times a day.
